There are some arguments over these types of dresses that I hear all the time..."oh well you could wear it to a ball", "this reminds me of my school ball dress", "yeah it's a bit more an evening dress - maybe a reception dress?". My answer to this..If you wear it on your wedding day walking down the aisle then it's a wedding dress - and how many balls do you realistically attend??
Now, the downside to a dress like this? These types of dresses are not very forgiving in the sense that you cannot have a stitch out of place or have it ill fitting otherwise, you run the risk of having the dress look cheaper. Here are some tips for shopping for these types of gowns:
- Alterations are a MUST! Get that dress fitting perfectly.
- Try to avoid elastic and have a skinny zipper put in
- Play with shades. A bright white can look elegant and striking on some people or it can come off a little cheap looking. Same goes with more creamy shades.
- Think about undergarments. Depending on the cut, this material can show a lot!
- Sweating. Yes, I did mean to say that. Personally, I don't think I could get away with a dress like this just due to the sheer fact that I will sweat and those sweat marks will absolutely show!
- It does pain me to say but with this style of dress, you will be paying more for quality and with a dress like this - quality is everything.

A fresh new collection which features some beautiful silk pieces which includes this stunner of a gown. A more affordable option too for anyone looking for that silk look but not necessarily the price tag. Technically not 100% silk but instead from viscose fibres making it more environmentally friendly and more economical. I love how this particular piece from the collection offers a more modest feel but still shows off the curves - and my gosh the SLEEVES!
