Karen Willis Holmes - BESPOKE Collection 2024

Karen Willis Holmes has just released their brand new 2024 Collection, Bespoke. If you haven't heard of of the iconic KWH then prepare to be wowed. Karen Willis Holmes (One of the better Karen's in my opinion) has been on the forefront of Australian Bridal wear for almost 25 years! Being around for that long definitely means you're doing something right. KWH have perfected their signature look and maybe if you haven't heard of them, then you have most definitely seen one of their pieces and more than likely have screenshotted it.
The brand is all about modern elegance, clean cut lines and classic silhouettes. If you feel that you are falling into that category yourself then I would check out the new collection (every collection is good but this one..*chefs kiss).

The Collection

The collection is made up of a WHOPPING 52 pieces including gowns, minis and separates. An amazing thing about this collection is that there are so many options to mix and match your perfect bridal look without giving up that iconic KWH vibe. Because of how huge this line is there is most definitely something for everyone whether you are after a ball gown, fit and flare, a deep V neckline or floral embellishments. The Bespoke Collection is truly the perfect marriage (pun intended) between modern contemporary and that classic bridal vibe. Want to know the best part? If you like the top of a dress in this collection, you can even match it with the bottom from a previous collection! The pieces range from $1,000AUD all the way up to $9,290AUD - fitting perfectly for a lot budget allowances.
Now onto the best bit - my FAVOURITE pieces:

ALLISA (top) & MATILDA (skirt)
This Combo!! With that signature KWH belted look this gown is truly a statement. It is the perfect mix of modern, playful and even slightly casual/cool. The bodice is draped mikado with just enough décolletage on show to flatter every figure. The skirt on the other hand is a tiered tulle dream with the most darling floral embroidery just to give it that something extra. Price $5,990AUD.

HENRIETTA
A gown I did not expect to see from this collection is the full lace Henrietta gown. On it's own you wouldn't think it belonged in this collection but when you see the collection as a whole, you know it just fits perfectly. The full lace look is super on trend for this season as well as the exposed boning in the bodice and the detached lace sleeves. A chic, very modern and sexy look - LOVE. Price $5,990AUD.

CATALINA

This gown to me is very much that signature KWH ballgown we've seen before but this one is more a-line and a little more sexy so I am here for it! Cataline features everything that we love in a gown - simple structure, leg slit for days and an all round classic and elegant look. Made from a heavy satin this gown would be perfect for a winery wedding! Price $4,690AUD.

BOW JACKET & TRAIN
Dramaaaaaaaaaa drama drama! I love this. I want to buy this. What an amazing addition to any gown let alone a KWH one. Perfectly paired with jumpsuits and separates to elevate and modernise and obviously create a statement! The mikado material will ensure that everything stays in shape and wont droop down. This piece would even create that seamless second look for the daring bride.

DENISA (top) & FLORAL JULES (skirt)

Another unexpected piece from KWH and I love it! I love the floral embellishments throughout the gown, I love the shape, I love the tulle and the beautiful whimsicalness of this piece. The side slit on the Jules skirt and the v-neck of the Denisa top adds an element of sexiness to this otherwise dainty and soft gown. The dingle dangles on the straps can be removed for those not loving to be tickled on the neck or having the feeling of a hair on the back of their arm that they can't reach (Don't worry, I actually love these little details!). Price $7,890AUD.

The Verdict

Ready for my opinions? This collection really does have something for everyone! But does it need to have 52 pieces in it? I feel like probably not. There are a lot of pieces have that look incredibly alike to pieces done in previous collections. I appreciate that you can customise and chop and change almost every piece which is obviously great but sometimes it can be incredibly overwhelming for a bride. It's hard enough to envision a gown fitting you properly let alone one that doesn't exist yet. However, this collection would be PERFECT for the bride that is specific on details, knows exactly what she wants and is really wanting a completely unique and custom gown.
I love that this collection features some really different details for KWH and I cannot wait to start seeing these on some real brides!

Want to see them in person? You will need to visit the Karen Willis Holmes boutiques or a stockist which are located in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane as well as New Zealand and of course the rest of the world!
