Real Bride // Ashleigh

Ashleigh and Callum 5th November 2021

We start off our Real Bride series with the beautiful Ashleigh. Her and her partner Callum wed back in November of 2021 at Assembly Yard located in Fremantle, WA surrounded by their loved ones.

At the start of 2021 Ashleigh attended a launch party for designer Miss Scarlett held at Oxford Bridal. It just so happened that there would be a raffle where the winner would receive a free dress...yepp you heard right, a free wedding dress!! And do you know what happened? She won!! Thankfully she had gotten engaged a few months prior but hadn't started wedding plans yet - boy did that change! The stipulations of the free dress meant that she only had a short amount of time to pick it and it had to be from the Miss Scarlett collection - luckily Ashleigh was already a fan.

Before the Appointment

As she was bound by the terms and cons of the win - Ashleigh made her appointment with Oxford Bridal to start her dress journey. Before going into her first appointment Ashleigh felt excited but also a bit nervous that she wasn't going to find "the one" and would have to settle. She wanted to bring her Mum and her sister for support and for their opinions. Ashleigh's specifications for her dream dress were:

- Not poofy

- Not too tight

- Not strapless

- No beads

So really, she had a good picture of what she didn't want! 

The Appointment

Miss Scarlett - Amira

Going in with the support from her Mum and sister and her bridal stylist, they began trying on gowns from the Miss Scarlett collection. After trying on most of the collection, she decided that Amira would be her dress. Ashleigh said that she didn't get that "overwhelming" feeling or the feeling that she thought she was supposed to have with the dress. However, she felt comfortable and couldn't fault the dress at all. One of those rare times when a bride has gone in with an idea and has actually ended up with it. To make the dress a little bit more unique, she added a very subtle pearl belt to accentuate her waist. 

Even with having restrictions on the type of wedding dress she could have, Ashleigh didn't regret her dress choice at all!

The Day Of

The wedding day came around and Ashleigh is still in love with her dress - more than ever now as it fit perfectly. She said that she has never felt more beautiful in a dress than on this day. She paired the wedding dress with a cathedral length silk tulle veil from Dreamtime Designs. After some getting ready photos she head down the aisle to her waiting groom where they wed in the most beautiful ceremony.

So, what are we doing with the dress now? Given that this dress was essentially free, it would be very tempting to sell it and make your 100% profit hehe. However, for the moment it is being kept in storage.
