Duping *those* Celebrity Wedding Gowns
If you are anything like me then you too are a sucker for a good celebrity wedding. It can be a big celebrity or a small one but hanging out for the photos of their wedding day is like crack! In the last few years there have been so many amazing weddings come out. From Paris Hilton's whopping 6 wedding dresses to the understated simple beauty of Sofia Ritchie's Chanel wedding gown - celebrity weddings have it all and we are all here to judge! Have you ever looked at one of these weddings and WISHED you could look like that? Wished that you could have a gown like they do but without the HUGE price tag? I am here to dupe some of gowns we have seen all over the internet with much more accessible versions right here in Perth.
PARIS HILTON
As mentioned, the queen Paris Hilton did not hold back for her wedding..at all. Every single one of her six wedding outfits (yes, 6) are incredible. With designers like Gahlia Lahav, Pamela Roland and Oscar de la Renta. I think the real show stopper of the entire wedding was the main Oscar de la Renta ball gown. Featuring a beautiful lace inspired by pressed flowers all over the gown and down the sleeves and completed with a matching veil. Now obviously Oscar de la Renta gowns are going to cost more than a pretty penny with some exceeding $25,000 - want a similar look for less? and more local? I have found a few options available with similar vibes and similar silhouettes.
Sienna - Chic Nostalgia at Bridal by Aubrey Rose from $2,950
Dior - Demetrios at Dion for Brides from $3,500 - $9,000
SOPHIA BUSH
My inner teenager was so obsessed with Sophia Bush from the One Tree Hill days so you could say I was definitely looking forward to her wedding (Not to Chad Michael Murray for any of those who remember). Sophia also had a few different looks for her wedding weekend/week (wouldn't that be nice) but of course my favourite was the main event - the GORGEOUS and DREAMY Monique Lhuillier gown. With a summery palate of peaches and oranges the floral gown matched the garden wedding perfectly. Unfortunately we can't all Facetime Monique Lhuillier and have her create our dream dress so here are some other options:
Nerida - Sottero & Midgley at Dion for Brides $2,000 - $5,000
HAILEY BIEBER
Hailey Bieber really started a whole movement with her wedding to Justin Bieber. A massive influx (that we are still seeing) of embroidered veils have been in high demand since the photos of Hailey came out with her "till death do us part" veil. Now onto the main dress. The gown was a beautiful custom made piece from Virgil Abloh for Off-White. With a gorgeous low back, off-shoulder sleeves and embroidered lace this dress really encapsulates a sexy, modern wedding look. This one is a little hard to dupe but I think I have come close! Obviously there are elements missing but we get the vibe:
Alexa - Love by Enzoani at Archela Bridal $5,000 to $9,000
CHRISTINE QUINN
In one of the most anticipated weddings of all of the reality shows - Christine Quinn from Selling Sunsets did not disappoint! And a black wedding gown?? YES. Everything about this wedding just screamed MONEY and luxury and I am here for it. Black is obviously a bold choice for a wedding dress and it isn't asked for too often - BUT on those few occasions where I have a black dress bride, this is for you! The gorgeous black and sparkly ball gown by Galia Lahav (a running theme among celebs it seems) is of course another custom piece $$$ - let's see how close we can get while still remaining "bridal"!
Andorra by LUV Bridal $2,799
Tokyo by Atelier Wu at Archela Bridal from $4,000
NICOLA PELTZ
A wedding that came out of nowhere I feel - but one that I am here for! Nothing screams old money/quiet luxury like a simple gown, cathedral veil and lace gloves. I absolutely LOVED the Valentino gown that Nicola wore to marry Beckham kid - so simple, clean and timeless. You would think that this one would be easy to dupe - nope. There are lots of simple gowns out there with the same necklines but are all made of a crepe material. The only one I have found with a similar style (not neckline unfortunately) is made from Mikado which keeps the structure of the gown in place much like the Valentino one.
Now obviously you can always turn to a custom dress maker and have all of these gowns made for you so this is more for the brides not wanting to go down that route. The heavy price tags on these gowns are there for a reason: they are custom made with the most luxurious materials and are meticulously made by the best in the business. So without taking that away from these amazing designers, I hope you found some inspiration in more accessible and slightly less expensive options. If you have seen some other gowns that are a better match please, please tell me! I would love to see what you have found and what more we can dupe!
